What I wish was different

Nothing. This internship was life-changing for me. I wish I put more hours that I did.

Advice

Go above and beyond. Come earlier than others and leave later than others. Show your boss that you love this internship more than anyone and that you’re willing to work harder than the actual employees.

Consulting new people all the time. Gathering people skills while also working for this company that was apparently disconnected to the Medical Field. This is completely conducive to my patient care and public persona an this was like sharpening the saw and identifying my personal flaws. Oh and working commission based.

The hours and living quarters.

I wish they had included me in other jobs rather than keeping me on the phones all day long. A little more variety would have helped me.

Customers react according to the way you react most times. Treat them all in a calm manner and if they do get worked up stay confident in helping them.

What I liked

I liked the experience of doing something completely different and really pushing myself outside of my comfort zone. It was a door to door sales job which was something I had never done before. It gave me a lot of experience of talking with people and learning basic sales techniques.

What I wish was different

While there was a part of me that enjoyed it being door to door, there was also a part of me that hated it. Door to door sales is very hard in today's society and it often lead to people yelling at me and slamming the door in my face.

Advice

Make sure you really want it. If you don't you will find your quitting halfway through like I did.

Hours were terrible. 60 + 6 days a week. Wish it was five. Management was also terrible.
