Environmental Engineering Intern

May 2019 • Manchester, NH

What I liked

My supervisor and co-workers were all wonderful. Everyone was so welcoming and encouraging which made for a great office climate. I loved the mix of work that I was able to accomplish during only 3 months there.

What I wish was different

I wish they had had more work lined up ahead of time. I found myself with a lot of intermittent free time where I was a bit bored and had to charge to overhead.

Advice

Networking and interpersonal skills are key players in the job market.

Civil Engineering Intern

May - August 2019 • North Andover, MA

What I liked

I got to work on a variety of projects, worked both in the office and in the field, and learned how to use new software programs!

What I wish was different

I wish I had more to do!

Advice

Be open to new experiences and learning opportunities. I was working mainly with the water group but I discovered over the course of the summer that I was more interested in the wastewater side of environmental engineering!

What I liked

I got a ton of hands on experience with real engineering projects. The company really focuses on providing real world experience rather than your typical intern grunt work.

Environmental Engineering Intern

June - August 2017 • Middletown, CT

What I liked

I loved the environment I worked in, my coworkers were great, and I was constantly working on something different every day. Also, I like the variability in projects I was working in.

What I wish was different

The first half of the internship (first four or five weeks) was very structured it seemed, but as it went on I felt as though they had less work for me.

Advice

Ask as many questions as you can! It's all so interesting, and your coworkers and boss will love to see that you take initiative.
