Wells Fargo Advisors

Marketing Intern

May 2018 • Irvine, CA

What I liked

This job was a good introduction into the professional world. I worked directly under a financial advisor and he gave me a lot of freedom. Most of my work was done without supervision. So, this method forced me to become a self starter.

What I wish was different

I wish that I did not have to call companies as much. Cold calling is a tedious and not affective way to gain clients.

Advice

I would advise others to really look into a job before applying for it. While this job was a good experience, it was definitely a bit of a let down. The job description was vague and unclear.

Global Investment Strategy Intern

June - August 2018 • St. Louis, MO

What I liked

I was given a lot of responsibility from the very first day and I was working with incredibly intelligent people. Everyone in the office was hardworking and welcoming.

What I wish was different

I wish it had been made clear that they don't give return offers. You have to apply to the analyst program within Wells Fargo Advisors - Wealth and Investment Management, but most of the positions available were less finance related, and more marketing/communications/business development.
