Welbilt

Engineering Intern

May - August 2021 • Manitowoc, WI

What I liked

I really enjoyed the diversity of the tests and projects that I worked on. Being able to work on a large overarching project for the majority of the summer and develop reports for the work felt very fulfilling. Assisting other engineers with smaller testing helped to stay busy and learn about multiple components of the machinery. All of this combined to have a holistic experience and broaden my understanding of what an engineering team does.

What I wish was different

At times the projects and testing were waiting on various items so there was a period of time with little work to do. This time felt boring and if there was something to fill the time with that would have been better.

Advice

the biggest thing is to get to know the other engineers and technicians. They are the ones who you will work with during your time. they can give you insight about how to approach a problem and give you stuff to work on. It is also really cool to get to know everyone that you are working with.
