Be ready for the workload. It is by no means unbearable, but at times there may be up to 7 patients in line while you're struggling to push a certain medication through one person's insurance with no luck at all. This does not happen often, but around 5 p.m. when everyone gets off work you can expect there to be a surge in activity.
Also, you WILL have customers that are just in a bad mood and might even be angry at you for an insurance-related problem or something else you cannot control. It is very important to remain polite, don't take it personally, and call a manager if need be.
