Griffin Beverage Company

Supply Chain Intern

May - August 2018 • West Branch, MI

What I liked

This internship is unique from many other internships that are offered to college students for a number of reasons, but the biggest and most beneficial component of this internship was the level of hands-on exposure to the business. As an intern, I learned just about every component of the business from sales and taking orders of clients to building the orders for them to traveling with drivers and delivering orders, to merchandising the stores of our clients, to bringing back broken products and learning the process of how to minimize this from happening. Everything about this internship breaks the stereotype of "Go file these reports" or "Go get coffee" and it has helped me apply concepts that I have been learning in class to what I did as an intern for Griffin Beverage.

Advice

You are expected to put in as much effort as any other employee for the company. Get ready for some harder days that challenge your abilities, but in the end pay off and teach you valuable skills needed for the business world. No two days are the same, and that forces you to constantly be prepared for anything. Look at the big picture of things that you are learning over the entire internship.
