About UCSB Campus Advocacy, Resources & Education (CARE)

Campus Advocacy, Resources & Education (CARE) at UCSB provides confidential advocacy and support to students, staff and faculty impacted by sexual assault, relationship violence and stalking. CARE also works collaboratively with students, faculty and staff to educate the campus community about the vital role that each of us has in ending interpersonal violence at UCSB.

About Advocacy:
CARE Advocates provide affirming, empowering, and confidential support for survivors and bring a non-judgmental, caring approach to exploring all options and resources. CARE Advocates help survivors navigate their options, provide support, connect with resources on-campus or within the community, and serve as trusted point of contact throughout the whole process.

About Prevention Education:
CARE works collaboratively with various campus departments, student organizations, staff and faculty to provide education on the ways in which we can decrease and prevent interpersonal violence on campus and in our communities. CARE provides ongoing education to the campus community on topics, including (but not limited to): communicating consent, recognizing signs of an abusive relationship, how to support someone who discloses to you, how to connect a survivor with support, creating culture change, building skills to intervene as a bystander, and understanding the impacts of trauma.
