About Kieve Wavus Education Inc.

KIEVE-WAVUS EDUCATION MISSION STATEMENT: Kieve-Wavus Education empowers people to contribute positively to society by promoting the values of kindness, respect for others, and environmental stewardship through year-round experiential programs, camps for youth and adults, and guidance from inspirational role models.

Wavus Camp for Girls: Wavus hires over 70 young women for its remarkable staff. Wavus pursues applicants who will serve as positive role models for our campers and who will bring to the camp energy, a sense of adventure, and flexibility to do whatever is necessary to help each member of the community have the best possible summer. Experience in wilderness travel / camp craft as well as prior youth mentoring experience are valuable. Our strongest candidates come with certification (current or prior) in advanced first aid and/or water safety or a strong interest in these trainings.

The Leadership School: Since 1981, The Leadership School at Kieve-Wavus has been developing leaders and strengthening communities by challenging students, teachers, and parents to take positive risks, set meaningful goals, make healthy decisions, all while being supportive team members and strong leaders. Adolescents still face a world of challenging choices and conflicting messages: our approach to supporting them as they face the challenges of growing up remains the same. Over 35 years later, we serve over 8,000 students a year from throughout Maine and as far away as Pennsylvania, through residential and outreach programs that empower young people and the adults who affect them to contribute positively to society.

Camp Kieve for Boys: Kieve hires over 80 young men and women for its remarkable staff. In line with its motto, "to strive in emulation of," Kieve pursues applicants who will serve as positive role models for our campers and who will bring to the camp energy, a sense of adventure, and flexibility to do whatever is necessary to help each member of the community have the best possible summer. Experience in wilderness travel / camp craft as well as prior youth mentoring experience are valuable. Our strongest candidates come with certification (current or prior) in advanced first aid and/or water safety or a strong interest in these trainings.
