Bay Cliff Health Camp

About Bay Cliff Health Camp

Founded in 1934, Bay Cliff Health Camp is a nonprofit therapy and wellness center for children and adults with disabilities, located on the shores of Lake Superior in Big Bay, Michigan. Our priority program is a comprehensive residential summer therapy camp for children with physical disabilities. About 150 children ranging in age from 3 to 17 years are referred to Bay Cliff for physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, instruction for the hearing and visually impaired, and music therapy. Extensive recreation and camping activities provide the children with a well-rounded summer camp experience with all activities incorporating the children's therapy goals. Bay Cliff is a place where children learn to communicate better, pour their own milk, dress themselves, maneuver their wheelchair well, and even learn to walk. It’s all about the kids – building self-esteem, gaining independence, and leading a fuller life.

Bay Cliff is looking to fill staffing needs for a variety of positions including: Camp counselors, Leadership and Program staff, Kitchen/dinning room staff, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Secretaries, Activities instructors (Nature, Ars & Crafts, and Recreation), Nurses, and Licensed Therapists (PT, OT, SLP, MT, Vision and hearing impaired instructors).

Bay Cliff also hosts a recreational camp for adults with intellectual disabilities, an adaptive paddling workshop, and a variety of family camps for certain populations of adults and children throughout the year.

Bay Cliff partners with other non-profit organizations and schools interested in conducting programs at camp. These guest programs include health and wellness retreats, youth development camps, science and outdoor recreation programs, or volunteer and leadership trainings for people with & without disabilities.
